A Brewery Built for Aberdeen
Great beer brings people together. That's why we're here.

Our Story
When we first started dreaming about opening a brewery, we looked at communities across Harford County. One city stood out.
Not because it already had a thriving craft beer scene.
Because it didn't.
Aberdeen deserved a brewery of its own - a place where neighbors could gather, visitors could discover downtown, and great beer could bring people together.
From our very first conversations with city leaders, we found people who shared that vision. They didn't ask whether a brewery belonged in Aberdeen. They asked how they could help make it happen.
When existing ordinances stood in the way, they were updated. When challenges came up during construction, solutions came quickly. Throughout the process, we were surrounded by people who cared deeply about the future of their city and weren't afraid to roll up their sleeves to help move it forward.
That spirit left a lasting impression on us.
It's why we've always believed Watchtower Brewing isn't just located in Aberdeen - we're part of Aberdeen.

Back in 2018, while brainstorming names, one idea immediately stood out: Watchtower.
We kept coming back to the image of a lighthouse - a landmark that helps guide people safely home. That's what we wanted this brewery to become: a place that draws people together, welcomes newcomers, and gives them a reason to explore downtown Aberdeen.
Today, that vision means more to us than ever.
Watchtower Brewing wasn't built for Aberdeen. It was built with Aberdeen.

Why We Brew
Great beer is what brought us here, and it's at the heart of everything we do.
We believe craft beer should be both interesting and approachable. You shouldn't need to know the difference between a decoction mash and a dry hop to find something you love. Whether you've been exploring craft beer for twenty years or you're walking into a brewery for the first time, there's a seat for you at Watchtower.
Our tap list reflects that philosophy. We brew across a wide range of styles, from crisp, easy-drinking beers to hop-forward IPAs, rich stouts, traditional styles and beers that give us an excuse to try something completely new.
Whatever we're brewing, the goal is the same: make it well.
That means paying attention to the details, learning from every batch, and never being satisfied simply because a beer is "good enough." Brewing is equal parts craft, science and curiosity, and we're always looking for ways to make the next batch better than the last.
We're proud of the beer we make, but we don't take ourselves too seriously. Beer should be fun. It should start conversations, bring friends together and occasionally make you order something you never thought you'd like.
If that happens here, we've done our job.

More Than a Pint
Some of our favorite moments at Watchtower have very little to do with what's in the glass.
They're friends meeting after work. Families spending an afternoon together. A table that came in for one beer and stayed for another. They're live music, trivia nights, celebrations, conversations with someone you just met, and familiar faces walking through the door again.
That's what we hoped Watchtower would become.
We wanted to create a place that feels welcoming whether it's your first visit or you've been here so many times we already know what you're drinking. A place where you can explore something new, settle in with an old favorite, or simply enjoy being around good people.
And increasingly, that sense of community extends beyond our doors.
Downtown Aberdeen is growing around us, with new locally owned restaurants and businesses joining those already invested in the city. We're excited about what is happening here, and even more excited to be one small part of it.
We're incredibly grateful to the people who helped us get here, the people who continue to support us, and everyone who chooses to spend a little of their time at Watchtower.
So pull up a chair, grab a pint, and stay awhile. We're glad you're here.
